Meet Dani

Still trying to back track... back at the end of September I saw a post from a friend that her sister had kitties that she was giving away to good homes. There was one in particular that I was smitten with! I contacted her and she asked some questions and then gave us the green light to come see. I've been talking about getting another kitty for a while (actually I started by talking about wanting a bunny... Jon didn't entertain that for even one second. We need to buy land so that Q and I can have chickens and bunnies and cats and dogs haha), but everytime it came up, Jon said no way. But when I brought it up this time, we just looked at each other for a while, and he said okay sure. I think he saw how hurt my heart has been this year, and how hard to is to be surrounded by baby announcements and he said yes in order to make the heartache a little less. We talked about the logistics about what two cats would look like, and decided we could do it, and off we went to go see them! The kitten I had originally seen was already taken, but this little feisty girl came right up to me and started biting my hard and purring and and playing. We wanted her! Q was so giddy with excitement! We got her home and had a debate about what her name should be - I wanted Quinny to name her since it was "her" kitten, and the name she picked was Peanut (not so surprising since her favorite food is peanut butter haha!). But Jon came up with the name Dani and was pretty insistent on it. Dani because we already have Henrik... so Dani and Hank.... the diehard Canuck fan in him really wanted this haha. I figured since he gave in fairly easy to me about having a kitten, that I would be fine with the name Dani if he could convince Q of it. She eventually gave in too and said fine, and Dani is her name! She is so cute

Henrik was NOT a fan. He kept hissing at Dani and running away. Henrik spent even more time outside those first few weeks - I think he was keeping a wide distance from the crazy kitty!

Such a tiny little fur ball! She was crazy for the first few days, really antsy and jittery. But soon enough she settled in and could cuddle us and she LOVES to cuddle and get love!

Watching a movie with Quinny. We talked lots about being gentle with the kitty! Overall she did so great and is gentle and caring to Dani. Q has such a nurturing heart, so this was just the best thing for her. A kitty is exactly what both her and I needed

She loves to cuddle and pet Dani, but she is always trying to put her to sleep haha... so when Dani gets crazy and wants to play, Quinny runs away because Dani bites her and that freaks her out haha!

See the kitty? She is a rascal and can get everywhere! But she makes the house so fun. We love her. She stole our hearts so quickly!!! We just need to work on Henrik warming up to her!
