The rest of January went by quickly, as time seems to these days!
Jon took this one day while he was scouting new things for Wildside. His joy for his job is awesome
These two lay like this often, cuddling and giving each other 'kisses'. You would think that Dani would just run away from Q and all her affection, but she seems love it. They love each other
The start of a new dance session - this time we decided to try out Summit Dance in Chemainus, just for something different and to check out different places. This is a ballet specific class, for pre-school and kindergarten kids, so Q is one of the youngest (maybe the youngest?) but she seems to fit right in, which is great.
Sleeping with her babies tucked in beside her
The first date in the date binder Christmas present from Jenna was to have a picnic! Since our weather has been awful, I decided to do a picnic lunch for these guys. I made muffins and wraps and put it all in the basket, and used the utensils and lunch bags that she got us! Q especially loved the Frozen dishes. A few of her stuffed animals and a baby also made it to the picnic haha.
Thanks Jennabear! Month 1 was awesome.
A walk with Dad down the beautiful Crofton boardwalk.
We went to Home Hardware because we were checking out pricing for things we want to do in our office, and they told us that one Saturday a month is a kids day, and this was it! They set up a craft station and have all the materials you need to build something. This month was a tool box! She hammered and got it all together... so cool! But she was mostly interested in painting it haha. And since then, it has been used a baby bed for her mini baby (Baby Hopsie is her name)
So proud of herself! Way to go kid.
We need to try to remember this and go back - it only took about 30-40 minutes total and she loved it!
Dinner time with her animals haha. I love what a Mother Hen she is.
She carried around that toolbox for weeks (even to the doctors office!), with Baby Hopesy (no idea how to spell this.. .its like Hope with a see on the end haha- she came up with the name!) inside with the blanket Care knitted haha.
Swimming lessons! She is LOVING her lessons this time around! She liked swimming before too, but she didn't love them.. this time she is excited everyday that she gets to go, and she participates and does SO well.
Getting her head fully underwater has been a new thing- she can even now swim a few feet with her head under the water. Way to go Q bear! So proud of you.
Movie night with her friends Princess Sofia and Queen Elsa haha
Game night! We play games most nights in our house these days, and I LOVE it. She loves games and its fun to teach her. But she has a huge competitive streak, so much like her dad! haha
As I was getting ready one morning, I came out of my bathroom and saw this. I asked her what she was doing, and she told me that she was reading the Bible that Nana bought her. I asked her if she knew was it said, and she responded with "Yes Mama, I know what it says, it says all the stories about how much God loves us, and how we are His Children" and then she referenced a few of the bible stories that she knows ("like when God's son beat the big giant even though he was way smaller").... it blew me away. Kids are little sponges, and this one is quite bright and takes in everything that she hears. We need to read to her more from the Word, and keep encouraging her desire to learn about God.
Games with Nannie and Auntie Hanna! We invited them (and Tim too of course!) up for dinner on night, and I made fresh pasta, home made bread and homemade sauce. I felt quite accomplished! haha. I love having them up there, it was nice to show off Q's new room and just have them here for a while!
Riding her new scooter! It is going to take some practice, she falls a bit, and gets sad that she can't go fast enough, but overall she loves it
And when she got tired of her scooter, she asked us to play What Time is it Mr Wolf, so we did
She was the wolf haha! I know I'm behind on blogging and I need to be better, but I love being in the moment in moments like this, laughing with these two and just doing life. We laugh a lot in this house
Sleep sweet my little love.
Walking with her best friend, carrying her baby on her back. These two are WAY too cute together!!
Such a little Momma!!! She is in such an awesome stage these days. She is fun, and silly, and her tantrums are few and far between. She is learning how to play with other kids, and not just beside them, and she is a caring and sweet friend. She is outgrowing her impulsive aggressiveness (thank goodness!!!!) and I trust her so much more around other kids. I know that when she is tired, she is going to fall apart, and that she needs to eat every few hours and when she doesn't, she will lash out at things that seem small/silly. It is all a learning curve for both of us, and I love being the one who gets to know her and figure her out. She loves her babies, and takes such good care of them, and I love seeing all these sides to her personality just blossom. Such a sweet girl.
Hanging out with Dad while waiting for me to finish work one day. She loves when the car is parked and she gets to sit in the front like a big kid!
Playing games with Elijah one night! She is getting really good at taking turns and letting other people go first, and she loves playing. And we love having Elijah over!
At the end of January, Jon left for a week for a few schools visits/missions fest/camping conference with these guys. We miss him while he is away!!! I don't love being alone, but it was good this year for me to see how well Q and I did on our own! I mean, we always do fine on our own, but this was the best time. Her age is just really the best.
She made me breakfast one morning. Thanks girl!!! Ice cream and fruit, sounds perfect!
And afterwards, she took all the dishes to her kitchen, and grabbed a dish rag and "washed" her dishes. It took her over 10 minutes to "clean" them all and put them away - I was impressed with her dedication to cleaning up! haha

I had to work until 7 on the Thursday, and its really hard for me to find babysitters into the evening. So I had asked Tim and Lois if they could, and Lois was busy but Tim came and got her and took her to ballet, took her home, fed her dinner and then Lois came home and they played until I got there! Tim told me that evening how much she talks, and how she talked the entire drive down. I laughed at that! He doesn't often have extended one on one time with her, so her chattiest isn't something he would always see... but it is SO very true. When she has your undivided attention, she will talk non-stop, telling all sorts of stories. haha! When I got there, she was putting them under sleeping spells, and then Papa would have to kiss her awake. Adorable! She told me she "had the best day ever!" with her Papa.
Hard working men at Missions Fest! That booth looks SO good. Way to go Chris!
We spent the weekend down there, and spent time with Aimee and Calea - they are such fun aunties. I think they were playing London Bridge is Falling Down here
One of the nights, we went out and had dinner at Luke and Care's house, just Quinny and I. It was awesome! The girls played so well, and it was fun to see what they have all done with her house!
Craft time with Nannie
Gosh, that face! I could just give her a billion kisses on those cheeks!
Superhero outfit, all ready for Madi's super hero party the following weekend! She calls herself "Super hero super princess girl, ready to save the day!"
On the way home, she asked me for ice cream. So we made a stop and got some cookie dough ice cream as a treat... and she got to eat it in the bathtub! Fun!
Cuddles with her kitty. Getting Dani was such a good decision. Q loves her kitty so much
I woke up the one day with a killer migraine, and realized I was out of meds... worst!! My girl laid in bed with me all morning and watched a movie and played with her babies quietly and let me rest. I felt SO awful, like the worst mom ever. But she was so sweet, going downstairs at one point and filling her tea set up, and bringing it to me in bed, so that I could have tea to make me feel better. She also brought me a cold cloth, and kept all the lights off. Seriously, this kid. Such a compassionate little 3 year old.

Mary came over mid-afternoon with my medication that she stopped and got for me at the pharmacy, and told me to go back to bed, and that she would watch Q for a few hours. So I did that, and woke up at dinnertime, to the smell of pizza! She had pizza delivered in for us all. This friend is the kind of friend that is a soul friend. So thankful for her. Apparently Quinny dubbed herself Holly's babysitter, and she did an excellent job of taking care of Holly. She LOVES Holly! Mary said the girls played so well and had a good afternoon. I am grateful for this community that I live in.
I took a really funny video of her in the shower after swimming lessons.... everytime, she wants to shower, and she dances around and rinses off and wiggles her bum... its so wonder that it takes us fooooorever to leave the pool after lessons haha! But she does make me laugh. (and makes those around her who are also showing laugh). We had a good week together, me and this goofy little girl.
