Norah Marie

Shayna was due on December 3rd with her sweet baby girl. I was planning on going out there around then to be there when baby came! She got the news before Halloween weekend that baby was breech, so they had a procedure booked for Monday Nov 2nd to flip her. But Shayna went into labor on Saturday the 31st, and her water broke and everything on the 1st and they knew that baby had to come out! So a c-section was scheduled and out baby came, a bit more than 4 weeks early! But this amazing girl came out at a whopping albs 13 oz, so its a great thing that she came when she did! She was a perfect size and a perfect little being :) Shayna was also hoping for a c-section rather than regular birth (there was a lot of hear for her surrounding the birthing process, which is normal!), so that worked out well for her (I also instantly felt bad when Ben told me that she was going in for the C because of the all conversations we have had where I have moaned about my surgery and how awful the whole experience was... yikes! Sorry best friend! Nothing you can't handle!). Since she came a bit early, there's been small issues that have kept them in the hospital so that the doctors and nurses can keep and eye on everything, but overall there are no major issues and this little beauty is doing amazing! And so is her mama!! I am so proud!!! Norah Marie, you made my heart grow bigger just at the sight of you! You are SO LOVED little one!!

Ben was awesome, the kind of husband you want your best friend to have when she is having/just had a baby! He sent tons of pictures and constantly updated me, text flooding in for two days straight. I was so grateful for that!!!! I just wished so badly I could be there!!! See how sweet she is??!!
GAH! MY HEART!

I woke up to this text on wednesday morning and it was THE BEST!! Norah and Shayn both look SO amazing!!!!

Shana asked if Quinny wanted to meet the baby, because Q has been VERY excited about all the pictures and has been talking non-stop about "shay-a and "baby no-wah" non-stop. So we facetimed on Friday so Q could see the baby (and me too!). Look at the smile on my girl. She is so beautiful! This was her saying hi to Quinny... such a special bond that we will always have with each others kids! We were also laughing because we had the exact same hair-do.... pulled to the side, low bun on the side. Too funny!
Norah bili numbers were too high so she's under the lights for jaundice, so Shayna explained that to Quinny before she showed her, and told her that Norah had a little mask over her eyes to protect them. When she put her phone by the incubator and opened it so Norah could hear us, Quinny got so excited about the baby and was smiling really big. No blue lights take away from her love for this new baby! It almost made me cry seeing her. I am just so happy she's here, and that they are both being so well taken care of. I can't wait to get there! I am going once they are out of the hospital and after my brothers visit... the 17th or 18th I will leave. Wish it was today!!
I am so proud of you Shayna. Your pregnancy was a tough one and you handled it like a champ. You are strong and kind and so full of love - Norah is blessed to call you mommy. She will challenge you and change you and open your heart in so many new ways. Motherhood is such a wild, beautiful ride and I am so excited to walk this next part of our lives together. Norah is beyond sweet, so precious and squishy. I love her. Thank you for letting me love her! See you soon BFF.
