But then this was the after shot at the bottom of the hill - so sad that Daddy said it was time to go home!
My new bike and bike trailer! Jon hooked it all up for me last night and I rode it around at the top of the hill for a while! I was worried about how heavy it would be too pull, but once you get going it's really not that bad at all! We will see how I feel after I go for a real bike ride... my butt hurt after just those 20 minutes of playing around haha! But please, all you people that I love, keep me accountable to riding my bike and getting lots of daily exercise! I used to be so fit and loved being active, and somewhere along the way, life got busy and real exercise took a backseat. I want to play with my kid and be able to keep up and be fit like I know I can be. Help hold me too that even when I say I'm tired!... also, sidenote... Q loved this trailer and was so mad when she had to get out haha! She kept cheering from back there and saying "faster Mama, go faster!" (except she can't say "f" so it comes out "saster!")
We had a playdate at Mary's this morning - she has started babysitting a little one year old named Coco, so she is home most mornings, and the girls all play so well together. Mary made us baked oatmeal for a snack, and Quinnybear kept feeding Coco and "helping" her... she loves babies. What a sweet girl. A good morning spent with our friends :)
Naptime is 50/50 these days - sometimes it goes so smoothly and other times she fights it so hard. But I just don't think she's ready to give it up totally - she is exhausted by mid afternoon and grouchy if she doesn't nap! Today I told her she could just read books if she didn't want to sleep, so this is the sight I saw on the monitor. Super cute, until she started yelling that she wanted to come downstairs. Sigh
I headed to work and she went to the church with Jon - the headache I've been fighting for a few days came back with a Vengence while I was working. My amazing husband ended up driving into town to bring me medication. Needless to say, when I was done work Q and I didn't go to youth group tonight. When I get them, I like to fill the tub with hot water and sit in it and then turn the shower on cold and let it hit my neck/face. For some reason it makes me feel better. So I got this girl her dinner and set up Cinderella for her in my bed so I could shower
Henrik came to join her pretty quickly
This made me laugh because so often people say "wow Henrik is so good with her and let's her do what she wants". But in reality, he asks for it. He really does love her and begs for her attention. He was not all that happy that she was trying to ignore him and watch her show while he rubbed against her face hahaCan you see her hand? She is so sweet, absentmindedly giving him love and giving in while still watching her show.
From the bath I heard her say "No thank you! Stop! No more! Go away. You so heavy!" Followed by her grunts as she attempted to push him off haha! She was then singing along to Cinderella - I like that she loved Cinderella. It's a good classic movie, nothing scary or inappropriate, and Cinderella is kind and patient and compassionate even when faced with bullying and cruelty. I'm okay with Q wanting to be like her :) Eventually she wanted to come in the bath too, so I turned the shower off and got out and let her play. It made me feel better anyways and the meds were kicking in. We made it through bedtime with a bit of crying on her part (she didn't want to go to bed and she was yelling for her daddy) and then a bit of crying on my part. I was empty on energy and had zero patience. She quickly saw that and got into bed and we prayed and she fell asleep. She's such a good kid, even when she's being a normal two year old. Now I'm drinking Chai, using this handy ledge Jon built me! We have nothing by our couch to put drinks on and I have split more than a few glasses of water lately... He surprised me and built this behind our couch, so you can't see it unless you're sitting here. Awesome! One episode of Fuller House and then bedtime for me. Jon has hockey tonight so he won't be home until around midnight and then out the door at the crack of dawn tomorrow for his day at camp. Tuesday and Wednesday's are long days. I'm glad we have a cozy house that I can curl up into.
