I took this lovely little girl out for breakfast on Monday morning and we went to Willow Street. Jon had Project Breakfast and then a meeting (2 meetings actually), so we came into town with him and had lots of time to kill. She was thrilled about going out for breakfast. I got her a hot chocolate and when they put it in front of her, she says "WOW this look SO good, yay!" in her cute high pitched voice.
This made me laugh because she was "zooming" her toast all around, pretending it was an airplane. But then she says "Yummy toast, now I eat you" and look at her tongue, she's totally licking her lips in anticipation! haha! Funny girl!!
Doing what we do best - taking silly selfies
I love this girl so much! I love that she is silly with me and giggles easily. I said to her "Quinny why you are you stinkin cute?" And she replied back with "Mama, I not stinky. I just cute!"
Then she says to me "Mommy I take pictures by myself". So off she went with her own selfies
These faces that she comes up with! She is hilarious
After breakfast we headed to the library to return the books she took out last time and get some new ones. Its so cute watching her go through the books picking out the ones she wants to take one. The library trip didn't last a super long time this time because once she had her books she just wanted to go, and not stay there to read them
Since she didn't want to stay at the library long, but Jon was still working, we just headed to the church and went downstairs to play in the preschool room. Perk of being a church staff kid! We were playing with the blocks and she says to me "Mommy, we are building a ferry boat, okay!" Haha! Okay Quinny, sounds good!
I went to work that afternoon and Quinny and Jon went down to the beach together, as they often do! It was a gorgeous day - look at that blue sky!
Seriously, these two are SO SO SO SO cute.
He said she just wanted to build sand castles, so here she is building. We need to take this girl back to Hawaii, she would appreciate it so much more now that she is bigger! (Tim and Lois are now in Hawaii for the month, and Luke and Care and the girls arrive soon!)I found a new recipe that I wanted to try for dinner. We have been working very hard in our house to watch what we eat, and get back to eating much more healthy and "clean". I left all the ingredients out and Jon cooked it - here is his little helper pulling her stool up and "cutting" her own food with her own knife haha!
As we left Hornby on the weekend, each of us had something to take away that we need to "work" on, for lack of a better word. I saw this today and sent it to them because it very much fit my 'goal'. A good reminder to let go of the things that are beyond my control and to redirect and refocus my thoughts.
After dinner (which was a huge hit - it was a taco pasta dish) I made carrot muffins for the first time! I was hesitant because Ive never had them before - but they were also a hit and we all loved them! yay
Rest and good food, so important. When anxiety is high, its important for me to remember to breathe and rest and remember the abundance of grace that is given to me. God doesn't belittle us, or condemn us when we are struggling, or shame us for "lack of faith". It is just the opposite, and these are life-giving words for me to read.
