Wild 5 - last one!

Phew! Slowly making my way through all our summer pictures! It was just such a good, fun, full, exhasuting summer full of awesome memories!

Our first summer back to camp after a season off, Ben made Quinny this shirt when he did our staff hoodies. It was so big on her back then, but we loved putting her in it because it was so stinkin cute! Now this summer, her third one with it, will be her last one wearing it, it is almost too small! Here she is, three summers in a row, greeting campers on the last week of camp!

My lovely beach girl! This is how we would set up most mornings - Jon and the staff and campers would leave for their adventure, and Quinny and I would pull our beach stuff down and enjoy the sunshine! This beach would be so much nicer if it had sand instead of rocks, but we still love it! She got so tanned this summer, despite me layering her with sunscreen every 45 minutes. Golden brown skin like her Dad (thank goodness she doesn't have my skin, who burns and gets heat stroke after 20 minutes of being in direct heat. Sheesh!). She would sit in the sun and play, and I would sit in the shade and read my book, or play with her, or go swimming together. So so so lovely.
She is so content to play by herself and go in the water and just be. I lucked out in the kid department, for sure! :)
I watched her color this one afternoon and was instantly alarmed that she colored only the eyes on Sofia and the birds and that she colored them red... yikes! haha!
Ryan cabin led this week! We were mega scrambling, and Wild 5 was also our largest camp ever at 24 campers! And we had no male leader... so Ryan stepped up at the 11th hour! It was SO fun to have him! This was his costume during Murder Mystery night... haha!

During the senior high camps, Jon takes them on an overnight canoe trip. So Q and I packed up and headed down to Victoria for the night! I have been so grateful for the past three summers to be able to go down there and be welcomed openly. Such amazing in-laws I have!! But I did notice how much less we went down this year than in previous summers - as Quinny gets older, its harder to be away from camp, because that's where we want to be, now that she can get right in there and enjoy it as well! But it is a little sad, because we don't really go down there nearly as much as we used to during the year (we are just so busy!), and summer was really the time that Q got to spend with the Lampards... it is always on my mind to make sure she spends the time with family that she deserves, but also be present in what is happening in front of us! It is quite the balance sometimes. Quinny loves when it is just her and I going down, because we sleep in the big bed and she can have so much room. Funny how much space a small person can take up! haha!
Swim time! This summer I let her go in the water alone, with wings on, if I was on the deck watching her. Big girl! Judging by the view of this shot, I must have been sitting in the hammock watching - my favorite spot!
Alyssa came up to head cook for the week! Loved having her!
Jeep time with friends
This is Bella... she is hilarious and I love her!
Brittany! She came up as the assistant cook for the week. In our first Wildside camp ever, we had 8 campers, 7 of them were boys and 1 was a girl. We called her parents before camp started to tell them, so they could pull her if they wanted, but they said she will wanted to come. Brittany was the shy, quiet girl who just blossomed that summer!!! It is SO awesome to see her all these years later, in college, with very big goals to be a world changer. Love love love her!!!
Doing gymnastics on Dad's quad with Hanna and Bella spot
Marika was Directing on main site, and Joyce was the Dean, so we went over and spent a morning with these beautiful woman!!! This was one of my favorite mornings. Q's too I think... all three of these woman just adore her, and play with her. She got temporary tattoos for her birthday, and she gave each of them a tattoo haha (She also went around and gave all the Wildside campers tattoos... pretty funny to watch her put them on teenager boys who just melt and let her)
Hunger Games! These girls were some of the best tracker jackers! The campers didn't see them coming, and then when they did, they underestimated how fast they were (especially Maelle! That girl can really run!!!). Such cuties!!!
I love running this game for these crazy kids! They get so into it. So fun!

On the last day of camp, Luke wanted the tent trailer so he enlisted Tim to come up and get it for him, and Tim was babysitting the girls, so Q got some cousin time while Tim took it down! She was very excited to show off her jeep and let them drive it! I was nervous about how she would do sharing it, but she was eager and excited to share, showing them how it works and happy to be the passenger
Showing off all her tools haha! Madi didn't really like the jeep, she seemed a bit afraid of it, but Makenna loved it and was right in there!
Gosh these girls are adorable.
With the tent trailer gone, it really did feel like the last day of camp! Always such an interesting day of being so tired, and relieved that we are at the end, but also sad and nostalgic. It was a great summer but very ready for fall!
