Jon Turns 30!

Quinny got a package in the mail from my mom and this new bathing suit was in there. She wanted to try it on, but didn't want to take her pants off. So this is what happened. And she proceeded to prance around and do hilarious moves. Look at the serious look on her face, before she collapsed into a heap of giggles. Man I love this kid and her silliness!
A good reminder!!! January ended up being a bust for doing an IUI because my cycle went all wacky. So in February we tried again, but it wasn't looking positive. The medication wasn't doing anything so the follicles weren't growing. What an upward battle, full of so many emotions.
Dancing her way through her shower after swimming lessons.
For his birthday, I had secretly planned a getaway to Hornby Island with us and the Eassons. We've been planning it for quite a long time and I was SO excited! However, this dumb fertility stuff got in the way, and forced a change of plans, because we now had an appointment on Saturday. So i left last minute trying to scramble to think of something awesome to celebrate this big day for my man! So Friday started off with brunch with the Eassons (which was the original plan, we were going to surprise him and leave from their house after brunch). We are so lucky to have such good friends that we consider family that we can celebrate holidays with. Jon got some birthday cuddles from a sleepy Holly!
These two, playing doctor together. Ady was the doctor, Q the patient. It was pretty funny to watch, Q  really played it up. Such a dramatic girl haha
Some sweet Holly cuddles! Oh how we love this little one! Q is AMAZING with her, so gentle and kind, singing softly and rubbing her head. Holly was even giggling at Quinny

Then we headed down to Victoria and he was able to spend his birthday money - I got everyone together to give money so that it could go towards new hiking boots for him! Two years ago, he bought new boots for all the hiking and things he does, and we cheaped out on them, and they ended up falling apart. So I wanted him to have a really good pair that would last! He was so cute in MEC, just beside himself with giddiness! We spent a LONG time in there (like an hour and a half I think?), and he could have stayed longer. He was able to get a really really good pair, and he was holding them like they were gold as we walked out. Happy Birthday Love!!!!!!
Checking out her light up shoes in the mirror haha!
We dropped Q off with Tim and Lois who were gracious enough to keep her for the night! I had used the time share bonus time and booked a room in a B&B - but it was more like a hotel than a B&B. We checked in (the whole weekend was a surprised to Jon, so he never knew what we were going until we got there), and then headed for dinner. I asked him earlier if he wanted a fancy dinner or a laid back one. He picked laid back of course, so we went to this speciality poutine restaurant I had heard about. We walked in and started laughing - a little bit sketchy! We were not interested in staying there to et, so we ordered to go and headed back to the room haha

Biggest poutine I have ever seen! Wowzers
We received this picture that evening - lucky girl eating ice cream at Red Robin's with her Nannie and  Papa! What special one on one time together! I would say she looks pretty pumped haha!
Waiting in the sitting room the next morning before breakfast. It is a really lovely place! This sitting area has a gorgeous fire and comfy couches, and a beautiful long wood dining room table. We got coffee and sat just a minute before they opened the french doors to lead to the eating area. The tables were set so lovely, with pretty flowers and nice dishes, and the room was so bright! And the food was SO GOOD! We were super impressed!
We headed to our appointment after breakfast, and they confirmed that this cycle was yet again another bust, the follicles didn't grow at all. I was glad it was Jon's birthday, because only happy vibes today! I was able to swallow my bitter disappointment and just enjoy the rest of the day with my family, and be so grateful for what I have. Jon too was disappointed, but I could tell that he also didn't want to rain on the day. We got in the car, and just looked at each other and said "its okay, we just keep moving forward. Next month we try again". And that was that. I am so glad to be doing this with him by myself. He has never missed an appointment, and he is so involved in the whole process, and feels it just as I do.
We got back to the house to pick up our girl and I think we were both extra happy to see her and give her a tight squeeze. She fills up our life and just lights up the whole world. She yelled HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DADDY! And threw herself into his arms. Way too cute.
We ate lunch with the Lampards, and got Q to have a little nap before heading out to our next adventure! Bug Zoo downtown! We have never been before and I figured it was something fun all of us could do together! The Eassons drove all the way down to come with us.

Quinny did NOT like the spiders, she was seriously freaked out haha! I guess she has some of her Auntie Aimee in her!
This is called a tree bug. He was really cute! It felt so weird to have him walking up and down my hand/arm! Ady's face here is awesome haha!
Watching the demonstrations! Pretty wild what they do here
Jon was holding this guy, whose name I can't remember. Sorry bug!

We walked down to Spaghetti Factory and had dinner all together, and then we all headed back up home! It was a really lovely day. Jon said he had an excellent weekend and felt very loved, which was the point. I can't believe he is 30. Blows my mind! We've been together since I was 19, and he was 20! It will be TEN YEARS this November! WHAT?! We've walked through our entire 20's together. It's been a wild decade, with more changes than I ever could have anticipated. Watching Jon age, and doing life beside him really is an incredible gift. He just tackles life with a zest and so much energy, and with a level head and kind heart. We have had many downs in the past 10 years, but the ups outnumber them, and I am proud of us for that. Jon, I am beyond thankful for you. You wear 30 so well, and it is a joy to do life beside you. I love you!

And this I saw on social media and almost died laughing! This is exactly how I feel, and it is hilarious how different Jon and I are. Yet we work, and it is a good life. Just don't ever make me get lost in nature.
