Motoring through the rest of Feb and the start of March! There is a hilarious story I need to write down:
I ask Quinny to clean up her stuffies and she ignores me. So I ask her again a few minutes later. She responds with "Mom! This is going to be so awkward". Me: "What is going to awkward?" Q: "Weeeeelllll..... you want me to clean up my stuffies, and I don't really want to. Sooooooo now this is awkward".
I just stared at her, unsure of how to respond. She is SO clever and quick witted, and her vocabulary is insane. She is hilarious! But also so sassy. We talk a lot in our house about being funny but not being rude or hurtful. This kid. She is in the stage where things come out of her mouth that totally take me by surprise and make me laugh (or cringe! haha!). She is pretty smart, and she doesn't really miss a thing.
Talking her "puppy" Poppy. She begs us for a real dog ALL the time. This animal lover wants a puppy so bad. We tell her she has to wait a few years, and for now Poppy is fine. However, on the inside I CANNOT HANDLE Poppy! She barks ALL the time, more than a real dog would! She drives me nuts haha! But Q loves her.
Tuesday night Progressive Dinner! This was such a fun night because the youth split into 4-5 groups and so I got to spend the night with just these few, which makes for a lot of laughs and good quality time to hear about what's going on with them. Jon calls these ones me "loyal following" because they refused to go with any other leader haha! Oh how I love them. Q was at "Granny Cathy's" and Henry's, and I am so thankful for our community who take care of our girl so we can serve the youth!
Jon and Quinny went down for the inturnment of Nana's ashes (I had to work). I'm glad they got to be there. We miss her.
Auntie Care braided her hair so pretty!
Sleeping beauty. Her and Jon stayed down there and I was home alone, for the first time ever! I have never been in our house without them (let's be real, I am rarely ever away from Quinny at bedtime haha). I needed some breathing room after having that fertility cycle being a bust, and didn't want to drive down late after work. So I had a bath and read a book... luxury! Jon sent me this at bedtime. Boy, she is so gorgeous. I love how she always sleeps with those hands under her bed, and always has a baby of some sort tucked in. Love this kid.The next morning Mary and I had pedicures at Matisse! Jon got me a gift card for my bday and Mary got one at Christmas, so it was time to cash in! We went for breakfast afterwards. A lovely 2 hours with my friend.
I thought this would be a great craft that she would love - painting noodles and then making necklaces. Nope, she did not love this. I did not think this through in regards to my childs personality. She had to paint them carefully one at a time, and she didn't like it got her fingers dirty, and she took like half hour to paint five noodles. Needless to say, we never got enough painted noodles to make a necklace haha! Opps.
Best part of baking with Mama is always licking the beaters :)
Time to pull out the Date Box from Jenna and see what month 2 had in store! The binder told us to pick our favorite board games and play a few rounds. The overall winners got to open the prizes. She also gave us pudding to make and eat while we played. (Quinny was VERY excited about these containers because they were "Frozen" ones with the snowflakes haha! She now keeps them in her kitchen")
Playing Matching
And Go Fish! The prizes were treats. So cute! Love you Jenna!
I started a new job in February - working as an admin assistant for a teacher that works for Heritage Online. So I go for 8 hours on Tuesdays (yes, tuesdays are insane days. I don't see Q at all!). Jon took Q over to the Easson's one day when Andrew was working from home, and the boys both sat and worked in the office while Mary watched the girls play. Fun! Little besties.
Sleeping beauty at naptime, tucked in her all her babies. This kid has SOOOO many babies... and she loves every single one of them haha!
For Christmas, the Easson's gave Quinny a tutu making kit. She pulled it out and asked if we could make it. It required a LOT of measuring and cutting on my part, but finally we had it all together and it was ready for her to decorate!
Perfect present for this little princess girl! She was over the moon about her special tutu. Such a thoughtful gift! They are awesome.
Down in Victoria, Jon and Lois having a drawing competition while Quinny watches on haha!
Brandon and Shelby bought a house! Soooo proud of them!!! I can't wait for the day when I can go visit and see it.
Bedtime storytime
Believe it or not, Dani is purring here and laying so calm, letting Q cuddle her like this. What a great kitten for this kid.
Lorna Tolman sent this to us one day - Quinny and Ady at Mom's Morning Out, downstairs.
This is so funny - I was at work, and Jon had to go pick up one thing from the grocery store. He takes them and send it to me saying that they are having pizza and chocolate milk for dinner! What stinkers! haha!
