Jon's uncle posted this on his Facebook and I saved the picture. The bottom on is Tim's mom "Ma" as they called her. Her name was "Kay" and everyone says that she is where Q's curly hair comes from. It was really cool for me to see this write up and picture! She does have Q's curls! (or Q has her curls is more like it!). And the first three sentences describe Quinny to a T! So cool to see how genetics work and certain traits are passed on, even to great granddaughters that never had the chance to meet their great grandmother.
Our first free Wednesday all month! Mary was free too because Coco was sick, so the four of us decided to go into Duncan and hit up Centennial Park. The girls were thrilled about playing together!
Such a lovely morning with our close friends! I am constantly so grateful for Mary and and her friendship and for Ady and her friendship with Q! The girls just love each other so much and are equally excited to see the other one. Too cute!! Here they are at the end of our playdate walking to the car holding hands. Seriously, how cute at these girls. They are the best. We sat the on the grass for a few minutes before we all left and had a snack. It always makes Mary and I laugh that the girls always just want the snack that the other person brought rather than their own. Good thing the girls are happy to share with each other! It's so handy having a close friend who parents so similarly to me.
Loving the warm sunshine!!
Our neighbor catches prawns and crab on a regular basis and in a passing conversation he asked Jon if we liked seafood and Jon said yes of course. A few days later he knocked on our door and had a big bag full of crab legs for us!! So thoughtful!! Lisa has been saying that she would like us to come up to her house for dinner, so I said if she will host, I will bring food! We haven't had a dinner together in a few weeks because of all the company we had, so we were due for one. We had a great evening in their little suite being messy while eating our crab legs! So lovely to spend the evening with these people. We love them all so much! Also, notice how Brad is the one holding Q... they were being crazy, running all over and giggling together. It is so cute to see how they just adore each other. We headed home and got Q ready for bed and then told her the next exciting news - Grandpa Neil would be arriving any minute! She started clapping and jumping up and down yelling "YAY! I Luss Grandpa Neil!" He arrived a few minutes later and she ran out to greet him. Usually she plays shy - even when we haven't seen the Lampards in a few weeks, she will shy away for a few minutes, or when she is with new people it always takes her a bit of time to warm up. So I was totally shocked when she just right away was all over him and chatting a mile minute and being super silly. It's so cute to see the two of them together because he doesn't have a ton of experience with kids, but he is just so good and gentle with her and she loves him! We let her play for a while, and then bedtime for the little one and then we were able to sit actually talk with my step-dad and catch up! So nice to have him here!
The next morning Jon had to work and we had a bunch of running around to do in town. I dragged Neil and Q around as I did my errands and Neil spoiled us rotten! On the way home Brandon Facetimed us, and it was so good to see his handsome face!!! I miss him so much, it makes my heart hurt. He is one of my favorite people in the whole world and I just so badly wish we were closer! But we all got to talk for a few minutes and laugh lots. He just makes me smile, he is funny and kind and the best little brother.
I had to head to work that afternoon and teach another Home Alone class. I like these classes! They are fun and the kids are eager to learn. I had 21 kids this time! They are full of questions and make the time fly by!
While I was working, these guys went to the park and Grandpa Neil pushed this little girl on the swing for a long time.
Grandpa Neil got his girl a new blow up air mattress with this adorable comforter that attaches, and then a Coleman sleeping bag also! She is ready for camping and for the summer away!
He also got her this fun Frozen lamp/flashlight, and I got her a headlamp. She is such a camp kid! Ready for a few months of outdoor adventures with her Daddy
My new running shoes thanks to the best dad ever!!! No more shin splints!!! I love them and they are so comfortable!!! Thank you Neil for making my workouts so much more enjoyable!!!!Eating breakfast together on Friday morning as we packed to go camping! They are just so enthralled with each other, I love it. It was so nice to have Neil there for a few days visiting. I love that he makes time for us and makes coming out for a few days a priority. We look forward to when he moves here for good! We love you Neil!!
