Back-tracking a few weeks to when Taylor was still here! We got up Saturday morning and decided to go for a little hike at Stocking Creek Falls. Such a pretty place! The Cowichan Valley has so many incredible hidden little gems like this place. Love living here!!
Jon and Taylor raced up this hill, Q on Jon's back. There was a lot of yelling and laughing that was happening. Fun to watch :)
So beautiful!!! Both the people and the waterfall!
It was so fun to get outside and do something active and low key together!
We are learning how to have a relationship with each other... such delicate and interesting circumstances and feelings involved. We tread lightly, but we both have the same goal and desire the same relationship. Love her.
This place is just so gorgeous!!
On the way back she wanted out of the carrier and wanted to run/walk on her own. She did awesome!! She is such a happy, easy kid. She hiked the whole way back happily! Also, notice how she's wearing her 'workout' pants haha! She wanted pants like mine to 'workout' in, so I got her these from Walmart and she loves it. I love (most of the time) that she wants to be like me. Kid, it is a deep prayer of mine that I am someone you can look up to and learn from.
"Mom look me! I pushing the trees so far apart!"
Jon headed to camp later that afternoon for the Auxano Grad, so we headed to Victoria to say to everyone and have dinner with Lois. These quick trips down there seem crazy because of the drive, but I think they are important - if we don't make that effort, than too much time goes by with Q not seeing her family! So its very much worth it to me :) We hung out at Calea and Aimee's for a while and Q helped Auntie KK with a work art project. After dinner Taylor, Q and I headed home and Tay and I had a really, really good, honest conversation. There are subjects that often just feel taboo, yet it also feels like an elephant in the room. So I figured we might as well address them, and just get it all out in the open. It was such a positive conversation, and a big step forwardJon enjoyed Auxano grad... Andy thanked him for making the effort to be there, which also made it worth it - we are really trying hard to do things that maybe we don't necessarily want to, but that is important to other people. And he got to spend time with these two goofs, so that's always fun!
We all met back at home and Jon did bedtime with Quinnybear, and I wanted to go for a power walk. She was reluctant to come with, but I dragged her out and she said she was happy she went. We had another really good talk, and we laughed a lot. She spilled some of her secrets and shared her heart and I loved listening. She really is a special girl.
