Tim turned 60 this year! A big, exciting milestone! So we decided as a family to have a family dinner on top of the croquet classic, which is also a celebration of Tim's birthday. Lois was amazing and said that my family could of course come with to dinner, so we decided to head to Victoria early and walk around a bit since LeeAnne has never been before. First stop, ice cream! Haha! I actually opted for a lemonade this time instead of ice cream. Good thing I worked so hard this spring... Sheesh! Haha
We walked around downtown for a bit - it's just so pretty there! I remember coming there as a kid and being amazed by it. And then later when I came for the first time to meet the lampards, Jon and I were walking around and I remember saying to him "it blows my mind that people actually live like this! To me it's just such a destination spot rather than a lifestyle". Little did I know that in 8 years from then, I would be here, almost immune to the island's insane beauty. I need to remember that feeling more often - we are so lucky to live here. It's beautifulWhen I add pictures from my phone they get out of order - sorry!! But in the afternoon we headed to the house and enjoyed the sunshine!! This picture cracked me up. I love seeing my two families mix :)
We packed lunch and ate at Uptown and shopped a little! And drank Starbucks
We all chipped in and got Tim a new blower for his birthday - here is Luke and Calea surprising him with it!
He aimed it at me as I took this and it was powerful haha! He will get a lot of use out of this!!
We swam and played croquet and blew bubbles and ate yummy food... Such a great day! Papa and his little girls!
She was so excited to sit with her papa and eat cake. Her love for him melts my heart!
The next morning was Brooke's 16th birthday! I had a while fun day planned for us! Jon made us all breakfast before he left for work and then we headed out!
Cinnamon buns in Ladysmith was stop number 1! We did this last year for her birthday too, so I figured we would keep the tradition! Those peanut butter cinnamon buns are possibly my favourite treat ever...
Off to Nanaimo for stop number 2! Henna tattoos for all of us!
Brooke also got her eyebrows threaded - she said it was super painful! But apparently supposed to be more effective than waxing. Brave girl!!
Happy 16th birthday beautiful girl!!! You are kind hearted and gentle spirited and also funny and bright. Watching you grow up has made my heart so happy and I'm just so proud of who you are. I remember vividly the day you were born and how excited I was!!! Congratulations on passing your drivers test - benefit of living in Alberta is getting to drive at 16!! Be careful and make smart choices. I love you always and will always be here cheering you on!!! Thanks for wanting to spend your big day with us! I hope you loved it.

We were all signed up to do Wildplay but the weather was stormy so we had to change plans. So adventures indoors it was!
Stop number 3 was Breakout Escape rooms in Nanaimo!! It was AWESOME!!! It exceeded my expectations and we all LOVED it!!! We worked together well and figured it out and broke out with 10 minutes to spare! It was SUPER fun! I would do that again in a heartbeat. And they all had a great time too - we were all so jazzed up when we got out haha!
And finally stop 4 was sushi for dinner at what is apparently the best sushi place in Nanaimo! We hit up a thrift store while waiting for our reservation and I got some books for summer reading. The sushi was awesome and decent priced - my favorite kind of meal!
My love drove to Nanaimo after work to meet us there - a bit late but he made it! So glad he was there!
Then time for home for cake that LeeAnne made earlier!Happy 16th birthday beautiful girl!!! You are kind hearted and gentle spirited and also funny and bright.
