Country Fall Fair

Calvary put on a Country Fall Fair on Saturday - our first annual! Mary and Ashley took the lead on it, but it was really awesome to see our church come together and put on an event like this. Doing big events where the community is invited is very new to Calvary... its exciting to be part of a church that  cares about its community. I was asked to do the photo booth and Jon was asked to run the carnival games, so we asked Lois to come up for a few hours and hang out with Quinny so that we wouldnt be so distracted by her. She brought up Hanna and Nana and they hung out with Q all day! It was a super fun day - lots of things to work on to make it even better next year, but overall it went so well!
Hay Rides... being pulled by our quad haha!
Candy Apples, Cake Walk, Chili Cook Off, popcorn... so many yummy treats and all of it was free! Gwen did the decorations and the property looked great!

She had a great time with her Nannie and Grauntie and Nana Fay! She ran around and ate lots of food and played all the games. So cute
 Hay Ride!
Miriam was in charge of face painting, and Q wanted a butterfly, and she sat so still while she painted it! Such a big girl!
So cute! It was fun to see a bunch of our youth kids out there, helping out with different stations and just being a part of the day. I love our church community so much.
As it was all winding up, we took Jon's family inside to show them what we were doing with the youth room. Lois was amazing and instantly started to help Jon brainstorm on where to put things and how to arrange furniture. She is SO good with that sort of stuff, so we were grateful to have the help!! I went right back to painting and took advantage of the time they were there, entertaining Quinny! Hanna is so good with her, its hilarious... Q bosses her around and she mostly listens. And when she has to say no to Q, and Q gets mad, Hanna stays so calm and just talks to her evenly. I like watching the two of them together. I think they are both good for the other! haha! I feel very lucky to have married into a family that loves us so much, and is willing to give up their Saturday to come out here and help us. They take me by surprise over and over with their selflessness! By the time it was later afternoon and I was SO CLOSE to being done painting, Lois had helped Jon hang lights and re arrange furniture and we were all starting to feel tired so it was hometime. Q hadn't napped at all, and I could see it in her short fuse and how quick she would get mad, but overall she was handling herself and her tiredness quite well! We said goodbye to them and headed home... before we even turned off of River Road, this was her! Out like a light!! It was 4pm and she slept until 530... we were a bit nervous about what that would mean for bedtime, but she went to bed great when the time came!
