We spent all of the holiday Monday at the church painting, so bright and early Tuesday morning we were up and cleaning. My dad and Raquel were arriving that day for a few days. We have never in my life spent that amount of time together, so I was feeling quite nervous and apprehensive. These texts made me laugh because it shows that I have the most awesome friends in the whole world. These two have my back no matter what, and I love that

The first night they were here we went for ice cream and then headed down to the park and beach. Quinny didn't really make shy, and they got along really well which was great

Wednesday we headed to Nanaimo because they wanted to get Q some stuff for her birthday. The shopping trip went crazy! I was pulling stuff out of the cart as it was going on... so much stuff, we don't even have room for that much stuff. Like this car... I thankfully talked them out of getting her this (for now... I fear this might be her Christmas present) because where the heck would we put it and where would she drive it?! I just feel like there are better things to spend money on then a bunch of toys... BUT they all had fun, and they really wanted to shop with her, so I don't want to be the killjoy and stand in the way. She came home with some pretty sweet stuff... like clothes for her babies. Now she can get them dressed and stop making me put her giant clothes on their little bodies. We did also go to Children's Place and Old Navy and she got some clothes for the fall, which was awesome and helpful because she needs fall clothes because she has grown so much! I weighed her and she still is only 32lbs so she hasn't gained much weight (she was 30.5lbs early in the spring) but she has grown SO tall!!
By the time we got back from Nanaimo, I had a crazy headache (stress, maybe?!) and had to go laydown while Q napped. I had invited Mary and Andrew over for dinner with us, and by the time Jon got home from work, my headache was in full swing with no sign of letting up. I had put a chicken in the crockpot, so he used my recipe and made butter chicken for everyone while I slept. Again, so thankful for friends like them, who come regardless and it doesn't matter to them that I don't make an appearance. They are just here to support us and be awesome. Everyone said afterwards that it was a good dinner and they had a good time. Yay. My dad and Raquel were staying in a B&B while they were here, so they left when Q went to bed and I was able to sleep it off! I woke up the next morning feeling so much better! Q wanted to wear her new Elsa shirt and watch Frozen, so I put it on for her for a bit - and when I came back a few minutes later, she had lined up her babies on her couch beside her. What a funny girl
We met up with Tim and Lois for dinner at a place called Bird's Eye Cover Farm in Genoa Bay. Raquel had read about it and wanted to try it... it is the Island's oldest working farm, and its a gorgeous property!! You sit outside on tables or on the grass and you bring your own drinks (they have pop, you just bring beer/wine or whatever you want) and they make fire roasted pizza from scratch! They only do pizza nights on mondays and thursday during the summer months, and it is the coolest thing. They also do salad and desserts, both in Mason jars. The food was SO good and it wasn't that expensive! Such a good idea! It was a good find

The farm was SO pretty!! They do weddings and events, and I can see why someone would want to get married there!
Selfies with the Father In Law! I have the best in laws around. They are so busy with a lot going on, but they still made the time to come up here to have dinner with us. Love them.

She had a great night running around. She especially loved the cows - she kept calling them to come "Cows! COME!"
This is definitely a place we want to go to again! It was awesome food, beautiful scenery and low-key. Our kind of place!
