Fair and Beach Time

The Fair came to town, so we decided to take Quinnlyn on Friday. She went crazy for all the animals! She knew all the names of the animals (even "sheep"... I was impressed by that!), and she kept saying "WOW!" Her excitement over everything is just so contagious.
We ran into Jenna who was there with her cow, since she is a part of 4H. It was SO good to see her! It made me very pumped for youth group to start up again!! I miss these kids!! Quinny got to meet Beauty, and she pet her and oohed and ahhed over her. Jenna was so cute, proudly showing the cow off - she had just given Beauty a hair cut
Time for the rides! I was unsure of how much she would like it... she often needs me to show her things first before she just jumps in, but she totally shocked me. She went on the baby roller coaster first, all by herself, and she giggled the whole way through it! She would wave at us as she went passed and then go back to holding on tightly and "steering" and giggling the whole time. What a cutie!!!
"MOM! MAMA! DADDY! I IN A BOAT!" - that is the squeals we heard as she was on this ride
This one freaked her out a bit - maybe because of the bar, she didn't feel very safe? I ended up asking the guy to stop the ride (there was only one other kid on the ride, we got there at the perfect time before there were many people!) and I helped her get off.
Giant Slide with Daddy

And then this was her favorite ride of the day! For the entire night afterwards she kept talking about the helicopter. So fun! She was too little to go by herself, so I went with her (since Jon can't ever do rides without getting seriously motion sick, I will always be the parent to go with her on these things haha)
Up in the helicopter.. when it went up in the air, she started squealing SO loud! She was cheering and laughing and just LOVING it. Totally hilarious. It made me laugh the whole time too
Monster Trucks! I wasn't supposed to go on this one with her, it was just for kids. But when I was buckling her in, she started to get upset and wanted me to stay, so the guy said I could hop in. It was a little tiny space! My legs are all folded in under me haha!
We also watched Jon's very first tractor pull... those kinds of things really show just how different Jon and I grew up haha! I have seen MANY tractor pulls and things like it, and I couldnt believe he never has! A prairie girl and an ocean boy... so different! It was fun to walk around and eat bad food and watch Q get so excited about it all. The fair is just so pricey! My dad also paid for us to play a few games (what a crazy rip-off those games are! But they were fun....) so Q went home with a few stuffed animals... as soon as we got them home, she rocked them to sleep and put them in her cradle haha! All her stuffies and babies "sleep" in the cradle that Uncle Ian made her every single night (except the 3-4 babies that are in her bed, sleeping with her of course... so many dolls everywhere...). The next morning we got up and went into Ladysmith for cinnamon buns... those cinnamon buns are the best buns ever. The homemade cream cheese icing.. oh man. Delicious! Then we hit up Transfer Beach Park. They just re-did the whole thing, it looks amazing!

The first picture I have with my dad since I have been a little kid I think. Its nice to have one
She was on time out in this picture, and standing there with her arms crossed away from us. I was stern with her, but then had to giggle to myself when I saw her standing like that. She came back from time out much happier and nicer
Having Jon around this morning was really nice. He breaks the ice and makes everything better. Also, him and Quinny are so cute together
I put her on my shoulders and she started messing up my hair. She said she was putting it in a "bow". Thanks kid! She wasn't doing it fast or frantically though... it was very gentle, like she was rubbing my head. Pretty funny
"Hands in the air Quinny! No more touching Mama's hair!"
They left just after lunch, and we headed back home. It was nice that they came to visit. They really want to have a relationship with Quinnlyn, and I want that for her too, if its going to be a positive one. They paid her tons of attention and doted on her hand and foot, which she loved of course! It was an eye opening visit for me. Next time, I hope they bring Taylor! I missed her! After Quinny was done napping, we headed back to the church to keep painting. I have moved onto this project - putting up verses/quotes all around the chalkboard wall. It will look good (I hope!!) once its done, but it sure takes a long time!!! But Jon was painting the other walls, and Q was running around, so I liked that we were all together! We painted until around 9pm when we decided that we should probably get our little person home to bed. We were all tired after the week!
