Geocaching with Aimee

Aimee came up near the end of Spring Break and spent a day with us. Quinny and I were spring cleaning that day when she arrived. Q saw me washing walls and baseboards and wanted to help, so I gave her a spray bottle and cloth and she had a great time. She is actually quite a good little cleaner too! Awesome! The walls are clean from 2 1/2 ft down :)
Aimee had never been geocaching before which I thought was crazy! So we drove to Maple Mountain and did a little hike looking for one there. It entailed a lot of bush wacking

Purse on, snack in hand. This is how she hikes haha! She loves going into the woods, which is great. She is her Daddy's daughter :)
We found this massive tree that fell over at some point. It was HUGE. We wanted to get closer but it was all swampy. I love that Aimee is happiest outside and that she comes on adventures with us
These two. My heart! They are the very best. (as always in close ups on Q's face, I am amazed by how beautiful her eyes are! So big and perfectly shaped. And so boggled by the fact that they are BROWN! Brown eyes?! Where did those come from?!)
She found the geocache!
This one had a big bag full of all sorts of treasures for her to pick from. She picked something she liked and then had to leave her Olaf keychain... that was hard for her. She didn't want to leave the keychain but she did it, and she sucked back her tears and was brave... I was pretty proud of her.
These two were sitting really close together and were doing something to Jon's nose... not totally sure what. But when I walked in the room I had to laugh! They are totally Lampard siblings. No awareness of personal space. They are funny together.
Beautiful Auntie and her girl! Aimee has always been one to work really hard at having a relationship with Quinny, and I love her to death for that. She goes out of her way to check in and see how Q is doing, and she makes it a priority to come up and visit. Because of that, these two have such a great bond, and Q adores her Auntie Mimi! Love it.

I went to work and they stayed at the house to hang out. Jon sent me with the caption "I caught her trying to escape the yard". Apparently she was playing with Henrik in the backyard and after a while he ran off under the fence. Then Jon leaves her calling "Henrik! Henrik! Wait for me! Please, wait for me for a second!" And she was wiggling trying to get underneath!
That night I went to get her dressed the next morning and her undies and socks were gone. Drawer totally empty. I asked her where they were and she says to me "In my hamper Mom. I was doing laundry too!" And in she threw all her clean stuff with dirty stuff. I tried to pick out what was clean and what wasn't but then gave up and ended up washing everything. She had good intentions! It just made me laugh because another example of how I never know the rearranging she has done or the messes she has made - they are never visible until you open drawers or cupboards or bags and find them either empty or filled with something that doesn't belong there haha.
Good Friday service! Jon and Edgar planned the whole service together and then Jon did music that day. So proud of him and how hard he works. And the service was so good. Such a good celebration of the death of Jesus (weird to word is that way, isn't it?) But we do celebrate, because what a beautiful, heart wrenching gift. I always cry in Good Friday services, because it is overwhelming for me to think about the physical pain Jesus had to endure, and also the emotional searing pain of having God turn away from him and being separated from the Father as he bore our sins. That sacrifice is beyond what I was comprehend, but I am so grateful for it.

Quinny asked if we could take Ady a present, which I thought was so sweet! She had painted her a picture and wanted to put it in a bag for her. She also wanted to give Ady one of her new big bubbles that she got. I loved that she thought of her friend and was eager and happy to share her new things with her, without any one asking her to. A big heart :) I threw some chocolates in there too. After church when Ady opened it, the girls immediately wanted to play bubbles. Mary being chilled out awesome Mary opened them right there and let the girls play. Reason #657 why I love going to a smaller church - no body cared that they were playing with bubbles, and lots of people came by to say hi and laugh with the girls. These two are very loved in this church community!
I had cupcakes to make for a party - isnt the best part of mom baking always getting to lick the spoon or mixer? She was thrilled about it haha! It was a great Good Friday :)
