Youth All Nighter and a Quiet Weekend

Jon spent all day Friday at the church, prepping for Calvary's first youth all nighter event! He has avoided doing a sleepover with the youth up until this point because he is a go to bed early kind of guy and late nights just kill him. But the youth have been asking so much about having one, so he eventually caved like the awesome youth director he is! He had such a sweet night planned - a mini golf that went all over the church, spa stuff set up, blaster ball, a bonfire, middle of the night capture the flag, a 2am slurpee run (thank you Jen for making that happen!!!! What an awesome servant heart she has!), video games, movies... all sorts of stuff! Quinny and I went for the first few hours and the kids were just pumped and loving it. We played mini golf and hung out and Q was having a blast. But  once they went to the bonfire, we headed home so that I could get her to bed. It was yet another example of how sucky it is to not have family around. I would have loved to stay, even until 11 or 12, but it's just not possible without parents/siblings to help us out. He came home the next morning around 8am and said it was a huge success, and he stayed up all night with three of the youth who also stayed up all night - the others all went to sleep, along with the other leaders. I was impressed! I woke up with a migraine when he got home, so like the amazing man he is, he told me that he was feeling good at the moment and knew he would crash once he laid down, so he gave me medicine and told me so sleep for another hour. He fed Q breakfast and hung out with her for a while. I got up and ready for the day, and he went to bed around 10, and Q and I left the house then so that he could sleep. I was so proud of him and his hard work!!!!
I headed to Kin Beach to meet up with Mary and Ady for the morning. We packed a picnic and the girls just played all morning and we had lunch down there
Ady is giving her a massage - Q was loving it, the glare was directed at me, because she didn't want to take a picture. These two are so hilarious together

So so so gorgeous. It never stops blowing my mind that these girls get this as their playground. They are so lucky!
We had a quiet afternoon, and just hung around the house. I went out and ran, doing my HIIT training, and then we just stayed in the rest of the evening. Everyone was tired and didn't have much energy so movie night it was! We watched Happy Feet... that's a bit of a weird movie. Q did not love it, and I couldn't really blame her. But the penguins were cute!
On Sunday Jon went to New Life to do a short presentation about camp in both of their services and then him and Chris ran a booth afterwards. I had a few different people text me and say that he did so well - such a natural at speaking, and so passionate about camp. Q and I went to church like usual and we met at home afterwards and then headed to Victoria to hit up Costco (we discovered that Langford is one minute closer than the Nanaimo costco!), so we asked Tim and Lois to drive out to Langford to meet us for an early dinner. It was nice to see them, the weeks pass by so quickly and its easy to go weeks without seeing each other or talking much, so the face to face contact is good! It was a good, easy day.
And once bedtime came around, she crashed hard, snoring and all. Also, the bowl of cheerios in her bed made me laugh. She tells us that she's hungry sometimes when she goes to bed. We usually give her a snack before bed, so its hard to believe her, but at the same time I would hate for her to go hungry. So we give her a small bowl of cheerios and tell her she can eat it in bed. It prevents her from stalling and taking a long time downstairs, but then she still gets a snack if she does need it. This night she ate like 5 cheerios and then was out, sleeping with her bowl haha. It makes her happy because when she wakes up in the morning she says "Oh yay my cheerios! My tummy hungry, I will eat these!" haha! Win win I guess
