More Spring Break Fun!

Obviously Quinny isn't in school yet, so you wouldn't think that Spring Break really affects things for us... but it does! Jon's schedule was different and our routine was different with our programs (like gymnastics and tiny tumblers and MMO) put on hold. It made it feel a little like a mini vacation, even though Jon still worked lots and we were just at home. It just had a different feel, which was nice! And the beautiful sunshine was very welcome! We went to Centennial Park in Duncan one day... that park is the best park around. So fun!
We sat on the swing for a long time and she giggled like crazy. I hope I don't forget moments like this.
Jon took us out to Boston Pizza for lunch! This girl loves noodles in any form and that is always what she orders when we go out
Such a goofball. And loving having Daddy around in the daytime! We did some youth group shopping while we were in town
Geocaching! Jon saw that there is quite a few around Crofton so we set off in hunt of one! Quinny loved searching for the treasure! We were crawling around under the boardwalk looking
Success! Her excitement at opening it was so cute!! We will definately be doing more geocaching!
Those pigtails. They just melt me! This kid has SO MUCH HAIR! It's crazy thick (and just a little crazy!) but so so so cute. Her hair is the best.
The whole way home we were skipping and jumping over the lines and having races and just being silly. Nights like this with the three of us together are so good. I'm laughing in this first picture because when I bent down to take a picture with her, she lifted her legs and wouldn't stand and just started giggling. Crazy girl!
Love you my little babe! So very much!
And she's done smiling and back to being crazy. Oh man how she makes me laugh! Also, see that house in the background just being built? We have been watching all the progress since the beginning... at first she loved watching because she saw the back hoe and all the big machines.. then she liked when the walls when up. Once they started on the roof she got it into her head that they were building Elsa's castle. We like to go and walk through it and she is convinced that it's Elsa's castle. What a sad girl she will be when Elsa doesn't move in, and its just a regular family! But it is fun to observe the progress!
She says to us "Guys! I take a picture of you! Stand there!" And points us this spot. So we laughed and did what she wanted and she took a decent picture! It's funny to me how much she loves using our phones to take pictures or look at pictures
Then she says "K, no smiles. Funny faces!" And she was giggling so hard when we did this. Too cute
She is getting really into art, and loves to color and paint and do artsy things. These sheets are awesome because you just use a paint brush and water and the paint shows up on the paper. No mess!
Just hanging out with Elsa and her bag full of treasures watching Paw Patrol. I thought it was funny that even Elsa was under the blanket
How she sleeps lately. On the floor. No idea why, but she asks to do this and we will do anything to make bedtime easy so we let her. Sometimes she wants the mattress on the floor too, and other times she just sleeps like this. If only she would stay like this all night.... every night in the middle of the night she cries and wants to sleep in "shelby's bed" which is what she calls the spare bed, or in our bed. If she would just get up and not cry and just quietly go to the spare room on her own, that would be great. But having her wake us up every single night is becoming quite exhausting! Especially since she was such a good and solid sleeper for so long!!! But as soon as she moves rooms then she goes right to sleep and still gets her 12 hours in. So I guess its not that bad. Thankfully Jon doesn't mind getting up and goes and helps her and then can come right back to bed and fall asleep instantly. If I get up, I'm up for the next hour, wide awake. So annoying!
Tim and Lois started sending Q daily chicken pictures and videos, and oh my goodness did it ever make her happy! Chickens are her favorite animal for some reason, and she just goes crazy for them! She would squeal with delight when the picture or video would come in and then would spend the rest of the day talking about what the chicken that day did in the video. Kauai has so many wild chickens, so there was always an abundance of photo ops! They even brought her a stuffed chicken home, which she now carries around everywhere and "baks" (how do I spell that?! The noise that chickens make!) repeatedly and then laughs to herself.
One day along with the chicken video they also sent a video of Lois saying hi to Quinny and telling her that they were having lots of fun in Hawaii and that they were going to get cinnamon buns that day. She watched that video over 20 times and then had cinnamon buns in her head and kept talking about them. It was a rainy and dreary day and we needed to get out of the house, so I gave in and we headed to Ladysmith for a cinnamon bun date at the bakery. This is how she got ready - sunglasses, purse and jacket all on. haha! That bakery has the best cinnamon buns ever. I love them
Coloring on a dreary day in her playroom. This little playroom is the best thing for her. Little and out of the way and has everything she needs
She was sitting on the stairs rocking her baby back and forth and saying "shh shh shh, its okay" in a quiet voice. When I asked her what she was doing, she says "my baby so sad so I loving her lots and telling her its okay! Time for her to sleep now". What a good mama she is!
I love how she even has the baby wrapped in a blanket. It is so fun to watch her be a little mom
Out with Dad for a walk while I work. He sent this to me and I started laughing because that thing hanging down her back? That's my scarf. Its really long and soft so she wears it like a blanket or a cape, and says it keeps her warm. I wasn't surprised to see her take it on the walk! Into the wash it went after that!
More colouring to do! We started hanging up her pictures in the room, and she loves that. Then she can add to them if they aren't "quite done" as she says
Grocery shopping with my little helper. I asked her to hold the list and she says okay. Then she tells me she's "reading" it, and telling me what it says "hmm okay mama, it say to buy smarties. And cheese. And the list say Froot Loops too". Good try kid! You are smart and that was quick thinking, but you can't fool mom, since I made the list ;) She did get the smarties, because who doesn't love a treat after grocery shopping? She is actually pretty great to grocery shop with - she listens really well, and she talks to me the whole time and has opinions on what I am buying.
Paint Time!
The Chemainus Library was having a puppet show. Q didn't want to sit with all the other kids - I think it was a bit overwhelming for her. But then Mary asked if she wanted to sit on her with Ady, and that made her really happy. The girls were pretty interested and sat good and watched. There was a craft afterwards that they helped the kids make - a paper Easter basket. Q loved it and immediately put it in her kitchen at home with all her other bags and baskets haha.
