Back and Forth to Victoria

Jon had a camp event at Perks arena that Saturday so we spent the weekend in Victoria. This little missy was so funny at bedtime, "trapping" us. She loves to lay in the middle and be silly :)
Park time!
Family movie! Quinny loves to cuddle with her aunties and will get right in there making herself cozy
Jon and I were up late and Tim and Lois' phone both rang a few times so we decided to answer it. So glad we did! It was Nana, who had just gotten back from a big trip and wasn't feeling great. The doctor she had seen earlier in the day called and told her she had to come to the hospital. We woke up Tim and Lois and they got dressed and went to pick up Nana and take her in. Apparently she had already had a heart attack and her heart was in rough shape with many blockages. So much uncertainty at this point but it did become pretty clear fairly quickly that she probabaly wouldn't be going home again. Jon went up with his sisters and Mom the next night to spend time with her before we had to head home. I'm so glad they took this picture. She was Nana - joyful and at peace
The next day she was doing fairly well, so they said we could all come see her. Everyone was there which was a bit much for her, so we only stayed for a minute but it was nice to see her.
Jon took Quinny for a walk in the park - she looks so long and big in these pics! Time is flying by and she's growing so fast.

We came back down on Tuesday and stopped in to see Nana for a short visit. I am SO GLAD we did. I was hesitant to take Quinny, but Jon went in first to see how she was, and she was sitting in a chair, having just had her hair washed and was feeling okay and wanted to see Q. So he came and grabbed us and we got to chat with her. Quinny showed her pictures of what she has been up to, and showed her a video of her dancing in dance class. Nana teared up at the end and told Jon and I that we were doing a great job raising "our girl" (she always called her that :), and she said that Quinny brings her so much joy. She also said we need to keep praying for her, and reading the Bible to her everyday. She stared at me very intently as she was saying this! I promised her that we would, and that are doing our very best to raise Quinny with our faith as a our foundation to our parenting. She was getting short of breath by then, and she said that it was time for us to go, and Jon prayed held her hand and prayed with her and then we got a nurse to come help, and we left. I cried as we went down the elevator, because the grace and steadfast faith that she radiated just rocked my soul. Those words that she said to us will forever be cemented into my brain and heart.

We came down that night to watch the American election together. What a nightmare, ugh. My feelings on this are so strong but I know many people feel differently so I won't get into it. But it was a pretty heavy night. We were going back home late that night so we let her stay on the couch with the promise that she would lay still and rest. Before long, she was out like a light! As she was falling asleep she asked Nannie if they could holds hands. So she fell asleep holding her Nannies hand and I thought that was so very sweet

And then we are BACK down again on the Friday! Jon and I, after having our appointment with the fertility specialist at the clinic down here, decided to move forward with having an IUI procedure (interuterine insemination) to give us a better chance at getting pregnant. I had been taking a very low dosage of clomid so we had an ultrasound that morning (the 11th) to check on the follicles. No real progress yet which means another trip down in a few days! As we went to that, Papa took Quinny downtown to the Remembrance Day service and met up with Luke/girls and Aimee/Calea.
Cuties
Parktime that afternooon ! We didn't see much of Lois because she was with Nana at the hospital as much as she could be.

Quinny had Christmas pictures done the next morning and then it was time to get back home. My giant fur baby missed us and climbed into bed to get some cuddles.
