Grand Forks

Roadrip to go see my best friend! Yay!!! I was so pumped!!! The road trip was easy, Quinny was a champ, and watched lots of movies, napped, and sang songs. We stopped at the Booster Juice in Princeton for lunch

These two were ready for us! It was SO nice to pull up and see their happy faces!!! Oh Norah, I missed you!

That night was the release date of the new Gilmore Girls season. We were VERY excited to watch it together. We are Gilmore Girl fanatics. 

After waiting 9 years for more episodes to come out (we always held out hope that it would, since the original creator wasn't involved in the 7th season and was very vocal about it not ending how she wanted it to), we were ready. That meant treats and food fit for a Gilmore marathon. Die hard fans will appreciate this, the rest of you will just gag a little. These treats were also accompanied all weekend by Milk Duds, popcorn, tacos, mac and cheese, pizza, pancakes, chinese food... we hit pretty much every major Gilmore food group. I was proud of us. There is a reason that this girl is my best friend, and this is one of them. She gets it.

Jon made breakfast the first morning there and treated us with yummy, homemade pancakes. He made this for Quinny and an N for Norah. Jon you are the best.

Dance party!

Norah was sitting with Quinny here, and then she flopped over and Q was laughing hysterically and Norah just laid there. I snapped a picture and then saved them both haha. Funny girls

Jon bet Ben an American $2 that he wouldn't eat the rest of this salsa. Ben said done, and downed it (it was so spicy!) Way to go Ben! haha

I LOVE this! Quinny loves Norah so much and was so good to her (for the most part - they had minor issues haha). Look at the look on both their faces. Priceless!

Rancho Chicas! AMAZING Mexican food!!! So worth the drive!!

Bathtime Babes!! 

Shayna and I snuck away one night to go see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It was SO SO GOOD. I can't wait to watch it again! The storyline was fantastic, and it was just so well done. And it was nice to be with my friend for a little while, kid and husband free!

Watching Care Bears together. Quinny really wanted Norah to come sit with her, and Norah was happy to do so. But Quinny did not like when Norah tried to grab the phone haha! So I sat with them and ran interference. Overall they did great and were very into the show. Little cuties!!

Jon really wanted to check out Pines Bible Camp, so Ryley took us for a tour up there. It is such a gorgeous camp. I really hope Ryley can get it back on its feet, that property needs to have kids loving it!

She was cold so we grabbed her toque and my mittens. Happy campers after that :) (until her legs started to hurt and Dad had to carry her - Tula to the rescue!!!)

Excellent people. It was a really good afternoon together

We spent the weekend talking, watching Gilmore Girls, playing games, playing with kids, drinking coffee, and just hanging out. It was perfect. Shayna and I needed face to face time and I am so glad we got it. Good-byes suck. But this moment was pretty cute. I can't wait to see you again best friend. I am thankful for our friendship and sisterhood.

Stopped in Greenwood at Deadwood Junction, which is the coffeeshop that Ben's parents now own! We stopped in to say goodbye to them, but we sadly missed them! We still got hot drinks for the road and checked out the cute gift things they have. Does it get any cuter than this 3 year old?! She just kills me. She was sooo great on this trip, with very minor fits. She slept well, played with Norah (who she has been talking about non-stop since we left), was pretty happy, and travelled awesome. And the best part... none of us got sick!!! The trend over the past few years for some dumb reason has been that one of us gets sick whenever we are with the Jepsens. It's weird! But we all stayed healthy and we had an excellent weekend together. Already looking forward to the next one, whenever that will be! I am hoping to make it out there in May when their baby #2 arrives!
