Onto November!

We were home one morning and she wanted to do a craft, so I decided to do a fall craft. I knew soon we would be onto winter and Christmas (yay!) but we didn't do any fall craft activities this year. So I pulled out the construction paper and thought for a bit. We had just talked to Lois that morning and were SO happy because the doctor gave her the clear for the next year!!! How amazing that at this time last year, things were so up in the air, and she was just starting the healing process of having a kidney taken out. Her cancer story is remarkable one with how relatively "easy" it was - no chemo, no medications, not much time off work, and cancer free after one surgery. We are so grateful!!!! So I asked Quinny if she wanted to make Nannie a craft for getting good news, and she said yes, and she wanted to make a tree since Nannie likes to walk in the park by the trees. I had an idea and off we went! She loves to glue things, so it was perfect.
The finished product! She did great. She even went and got out her google eyes and added them so that it had a face, which I thought was hilarious. So then I added the smile. I ripped all the pieces, but she did everything else. It's amazing watching her work, how concentrated she gets, and how she really thinks things through.

After dance class we were going to meet Sharon at Starbucks but after a long day she decided to head home (I would do the same thing!), so we had time to kill together (my car was in the garage, so we needed to wait around for Jon who was getting a ride to Duncan with Jinny after work). We decided to go to Starbucks still since it was the first day of holiday drinks! Yay! Holiday cake pop for her, Creme Brûlée Latte for me. Yum!! I live for this drink all year, its my very favorite!
The faces she comes up with just kill me. So funny! I really do love this new stage we are in. We are past the toddler tantrums (which thankfully didn't last too long and never outside of our house), and she can talk so well and is so bright. We sit together and actually talk - she tells me stories and she tell me how she's feelings, and all about the things that are in her head. She is really funny and a really good kid. She talks A LOT - it is non-stop. But I love it. She is a really good listener too, and she will actually say to Jon and I "so guys, tell me about your day!" and expects us to respond. She asks us questions about things and she is so thoughtful and very funny. I like hanging out with her. This was a fun day and we sat there for like 45 minutes and just laughed together. My prayer is that our relationship stays this way. That it's not without its annoyances and frustrations, but that we genuinely like each other, and laugh together and talk non stop together. I am so thankful I have a daughter.

My David's Tea Advent Calendar... Happy Birthday to me! I was so pumped to get this! I started early on it because we are leaving for half of December and I don't want to pack it with... there are a few that are my new fave! So delicious. (and one really terrible green tea)
Love love love this girl!!
When I asked her what she was doing, she said "I am sitting on the couch with my stuffy family". She was talking to them and giggling to herself. It always makes me laugh when I see her play like this - everything all lined up, in order, all neatly. My little organizer haha
I was at work and Quinny told Jon she wanted to make a snowman. It was a bright beautiful day outside, so Jon got an idea. Down to the beach they went! "Sand"man making time! She loved it. She called me at work to tell me all about it haha. I guess this is how west coast kids play in the winter!

This is 100% true! This has literally happened in our house before. So I saved this because it made me laugh!
