Holly Elizabeth Easson was born on Dec 3rd at 7:40am and we are SO SO happy!!!! Mary and I had been texting lots in the early hours of the morning, and she was clearly full of nervous energy... the conversation was hilarious. I got another text at 4:30 from Andrew saying it was go time and she was here just 3 hours later (after only 8 minutes of pushing!). Her births have both been so good (as far as any birth experience is!) and it makes me really motivated to try for a VBAC when we get pregnant again. I told her on Sunday that I was cooking a whole chicken in my crockpot and would drop dinner off for them, and she told us to all come and stay and have dinner with them. One day after giving birth, and she was home, snuggling with her baby, walking around, getting used to life with 2. This is the dream! I want to heal like that instead of weeks of surgery pain! I mean, look at this woman. 36 hours after birth! She is amazing. Wonderwoman. I was so honored and excited that that asked to come eat with them, being able to meet Holly so soon after being born. They had just arrived home from the hospital and were very appreciative of the food! We brought the crockpot with the chicken and homemade gravy, potatoes and veggies. Quinny was THRILLED to meet Holly! She was in awe that the baby was just in Mary's belly and now she is here. She kept asking "but HOW does the baby come out?"... we keep just telling her "Auntie Mary pushed her out"... that answer needs to be sufficient for now haha. Ady is totally adorable, just over the moon about her sister, and kept wanting to hold her and give her lots of love. Mary was so good with the girls, letting them cuddle Holly and watch while she nursed. I cleaned the kitchen and made sure everyone was fed and just took in the moment. A new little life, how very exciting!
Quinny started singing the ABC's to Holly when she was crying, and she actually stopped! So so so adorable. She just loves babies SO very much and she knows Holly is so special.Jon just melts at the sight of babies, and Holly especially! Oh how he loves her! We have been anxiously awaiting her arrival for months!
Oh sweet, sweet girl. You have no idea just how much Auntie Mel loves you! I am SO very excited to watch you grow and be a part of your life and see who you will grow to be. It makes me very emotional to hold you and see you and soak in your cuddles. You, tiny love, are healing to my heart. The journey your mom and I have been on together over the past 12 months has been an intense one, and our friendship is stronger than ever thanks to your existence. It was a pleasure to meet you, little one. You are perfect. And you have the most amazing parents who are so in love with you!
My super cozy living room. I love my house. And I love Christmas. This sight makes me very happy.
We woke up this morning to SNOW! What a beautiful surprise! Snow days like this out here are awesome because we can play with it and enjoy its awesomeness, but our cars still start, we don't freeze to death, and tomorrow we go back to normal. It's a fun novelty and I LOVE it! Jon had to head to work sadly! But Quinny and I bundled up right away and headed out to play! She doesn't have any winter gear... I squeezed her into rain pants that are too small, and put on baby mitts on her, and her jacket isn't waterproof... the whole thing made me laugh. But we were too excited to let that get us down! It was plus 4 out, so it's not like we needed to be too bundled anyways. The snow was perfect, the nice sticky stuff that's fun to play in and easy to make stuff with!
We had SO much fun out there, giggling and playing. I love this kid so much. She's fun
She was amazed at how when we rolled the snowballs, they got bigger and bigger. She was so gleeful about the whole thing, I couldn't help but laugh. She is such a west coast kid
Our finished product! Pretty impressive, right?! I went in to get the supplies, and a hat was on the list, and she says "No Mama, don't get a hat! Our snowman needs a crown because it's a princess snowgirl!" So I found this in our party supplies. I think she is pretty cute!
"Mom my princess snowgirl needs a big hug!" haha!
Goggly eyes, pom poms, pipe cleaner, carrots... love it.
See the sticks now pointing out of the showgirl's head? Quinny put those there afterwards, saying that she needed ears haha. Such a good morning, complete with hot chocolate afterwards :)
Brad and Lisa wanted to show us their new house, but it is still empty because they have done a HUGE amounts of rents the last month!!! So I brought my crockpot along again and packed a picnic basket! Crockpot parmesan chicken.... so good. I set up a little picnic with paper plates and cups and utensils. I love that the house is empty, except they have their Christmas tree and stockings set up haha. They are so awesome. I love the house, its super cute. I can't believe the amount of work Bradley has done to it!
I had plans that night to meet DDMM for coffee, but Mary was out because Holly showed up, and Dixie cancelled because she's super sick. So it was just Dana and I! Jon took Quinny for a hot chocolate date to Tim Hortons while Dana and I visited and they came back after an hour or so to pick me up, and Quinny was so excited to see Dana. I love that she loves my friends so much. It was really lovely to have one on one time with Dana, I've missed her. She asks good questions and we can talk openly about life. I left feeling very refreshed and happy. It was a great day
