The Thursday that the Jepsen's left I had to work, so Q and Jon had an evening to themselves. They hung around Duncan and had a few fun adventures waiting for me to be done so we could go down to Victoria after I was done. He got some awesome shots of her at the park! What a gorgeous girl, and what a fun dad!
Dinner of chicken and french fries in the car. He said she was quite excited to sit and eat in the front like a big kid
Tim and Lois took Jon to the ferry early the next morning so he could meet up with the rest of the Imadene staff for Missions Fest. Quinny and I stayed down in Victoria for the weekend. Nannie brought out the rice bin for Quinny and she loved it!! She filled all the toys and said she was making tea.
Hours later, still playing with the rice.
My mom recently taught Tim how to play backgammon over FaceTime, and him and Lois have been playing tons. Watching them giggle together is the best.
I played Lois a couple of times too. It's a fun game and it reminds me of home
While we played, Papa was downstairs in the new playroom (Calea's old room!) with Quinny. As we were playing we could hear them laughing and chattering to each other. Pretty cute. When we went down, Q had pulled out the blocks and they were building a "really big tower!"While trying to decide how to make the tower stand up on its own, because Q really wanted it to stay up, Papa decided to tape it to the roof. Pretty funny to watch!
The happy tower makers! What amazing grandparents!
I love TimeHop. This popped up and it made me happy. Eight later, closer than ever.
I took this for Jon on Saturday because she was being so cute drinking her hot chocolate. She loves being at her Nannie and Papa's house! And I love that Tim and Lois just take us in and don't even bat an eye at us being there for a full weekendLisa sent this to me at one point. Happy Mission Fest workers! I love that they work together.
Seriously that face. Gah! She just kills me. What a girl
Shopping time! We had a shower the following weekend to go to and we decided to all go in together on a present. Quinny was very happy to hang out with her Auntie's!Later on she wanted "Auntie Mimi" to read her a story and when Aims asked her to go pick one out, she grabbed one of Lois' Country Living magazine. Aimee said no, go get a real book, and Q got mad and said that this was the one she wanted to read. So Aimee flipped open to a random article and Q was so into it. Hilarious! We tease Lois often because she has MANY MANY Country Living magazines saved, but maybe Q will come along and read them all also! haha
Tim and Lois had plans that night to go out, so we were going to go to Calea and Aimees for dinner and then head back up home. Aimee says to Q "Hey Quinnybear, do you want to go to Auntie Mimi and KK's house for dinner?" and she responded with "Umm Mimi, not really" and we just died laughing!! All her toys and things were at Nannie and Papas so she wasn't eager to go. But eventually we convinced her and once she got there, this happened. A Let It Go sing along dance party with KK and Michelle. Too funny!
As we were eating dinner I got hit a migraine out of nowhere and it got bad fast. I always feel SO dumb when this happens, because I'm totally fine and then BAM! I am not fine and its confusing and weird. Thankfully my sister in laws are awesome and they drove us back to Tim and Lois' house (there was no way I could drive back to my own house that night) and stayed while I got Q to bed and then went to bed myself. Change of plans, but it still worked! We got an extra day with the Lampards on the Sunday :)
This TimeHop picture from a year ago also made me laugh - it was the picture we sent to Jon last year when he was away at Mission Fest/Camping Conference. She was giving him kisses haha. So many changes in one year!
We got home on Sunday and it was nice to be home. I love going to the Lampards when Jon is away and they take such good care of us! But with company all week and then being gone all weekend, it was nice to be home. This girl had a bath with ALL of her bath toys
And immediately started lining them up like the little organizer that she is haha!
She went to bed great and I crawled into my bed with my computer and watched Grey's. This show never gets old no matter how many times I've see all the episodes.Jeff and Gina had the staff over to stay at their house on Sunday and like they did last year, they fired up their pizza oven and made them all pizzas! Such a delicious treat! Jon was pretty pumped. He doesn't love going away, but he does really like the staff he works with, and that makes going away way easier. What a gift, to work in a place where you genuinely like the other staff and your boss is your friend. There may be bigger issues in ministry and this one is no exception, but these relationships are important and make it a positive work environment for Jon.
Too true and too funny!
Play-Doh Playdate with Ady! I love how much these two love each other.
I made Jon "welcome home" cookies that he loves as a special treat for him on Tuesday... but I think I forgot to add baking soda maybe?! I'm usually a really good baker, so I was so sad when this happened haha! But they still tasted good and he ate them anyways. So easy to please! She got a package in the mail! Auntie Shelby and Uncle Brandon sent her a Valentine's Day present! She got this awesome pink jacket with hearts on it (a size FOUR! It's quite big on her, but still! I can't believe she has size 4 clothing!!!!)
And Smarties, which she was quite pumped about!! Shelby is amazing and always sends packages for the different holidays. Such a great Auntie!!! Q loves this jacket and asks to wear "the new one from my Shelby!" all the time
We picked Jon up around dinnertime and we were all excited to have him back! Here she is with my phone taking her own pictures haha. She switches the camera from color to black and white - it's amazing to me that she knows how to do that. I never taught her that. What a little sponge, soaking in everything she sees!
Yep, that's me having a little nap. Tired mama I guess!
