Jepsen's Come to Town

We had a very relaxing, easy week with our friends. Ben needed the rest and break from ministry and I think the slow pace was really good for the. the weather wasn't awesome so we stuck pretty close to home, but that was the best. Games, good talks, and just being together. Love it.

This girl got herself into this basket like this and then started calling for me "Mom! Mom! Mommy! MAMA! I STUCK! I STUCK! Come help me mama!" Oh man, too funny! She was laughing, but it was one of those nervous laughs where she can see that its funny, but is also a little terrified that maybe she would be stuck forever. I of course had to take a picture before I went over and got her out. She is so funny
This popped up on my TimeHop and I love it! Jenna and Q, two years later.
Ben sat at the "baby table" with her and played kitchen. She really loves her Uncle Ben! She would call for him and look around for him when he wasn't downstairs. He's so good to her

And of course little Baby Norah snuggles made all of us happy!! Jon always makes me laugh around babies - he just loves them and wants to hold and snuggle all the babies. He is so nurturing and sweet.  I am not nearly as crazy for babies as he is... but this baby I sure do love! I think we did a pretty good job on sharing her though. She is still so small and mostly just eats and sleeps, and that's the best age for snuggles!! Soon enough we will start to see more of her personality and I am so excited to see the girl and woman she will grow to be.
Tim and Lois drove up one night to have dinner with us and see Ben and Shayna and meet Norah. Very thoughtful of them! I pulled out of china after dinner for us to drink tea out of it, and I realized that I think that may have been the first time that I really used to tea cups! I have my favorite mugs that I always use myself, and then I forget about the china when people are over. But now that we have that new tea shelf with the mugs hanging on it, I remember to pull them out!
I know I said it before, but Quinny's love for Norah is so huge. She would tiptoe around when she was sleeping and tell us all to "be quiet guys! Baby Norah sleeping!" She wanted to hold her constantly and just showered Norah with kisses. She would also do silly things to make Norah giggle and was just so attentive. Norah is such a chilled out baby, so she seemed happy enough to let Q hold and love her. So cute!!!

Q loves this hair do because she says its like Elsa. "Mommy I want a Elsa Braid"
She had the biggest meltdown I have ever seen her have thus far on the Monday that they were here - she was still so tired from being sick and not herself and she lost her marbles over something small. She was in her room, on the floor screaming to herself, and when I went up to check on her and help her calm down, she realized she was all wet. I told her that she must have peed herself and she was shocked. That's how much she was losing it! She was totally unaware that she had peed. Being two can be so hard sometimes! But after that she bounced back and started to feel better and it was good to see her back to her normal, cheery self! It was a good reminder to me of what a great toddler she is - so far we haven't had to deal with much of that. She gets mad quickly and yells and cries, but she also typically can be reasoned with, and snaps out of it quickly. To see her so upset and beyond herself is very frustrating and also so sad! She really is a great kid and I enjoy hanging out with her. She is happy and sweet and super funny
She is constantly creating things and cooking and playing. Here she asked to play with Play-Doh and then went into my kitchen to get one of my cookie pans, and then did this and then put the pan in her kitchen oven to "cook" the cookies. She is awesome.
And these pictures are why my best friend is the best. Look at these faces!

In their happy place, watching a Canucks Game together, with a bag of chips beside them.
I woke up on the Wednesday with a wicked headcold! So sick! I was congested and sniffly and had a headache and just felt all around gross. Ugh. So when the rain broke and they decided to go for a walk on the boardwalk, I opted to stay home and nap. Love friends who can go out and do their thing and I can stay home and nap. Love this picture of all of them!
Sick, gross me. I took this for my mom and sent it to her. Nobody has as much sympathy for you when you're sick then your mom, right?! haha. She right away called me and showered me with love
Thursday morning Jon got up early and went to his dentist appointment. I made this for him a while back, and he was DREADING it. He couldn't sleep the night before, tossing and turning all night, just filled with anxiety about going. I have no idea why his experience with the dentist in the past has been negative, but I am trying to convince him that its a good thing! He had some fillings to get done, and he was just so nervous and anxious and didn't want to go. But I was proud of him for getting up and going! I thought I may have to drive there myself haha. He was frozen for a long time and not happy about it haha! But now his mouth is much happier! Way to go Jon!
While Jon was at the dentist, the Jepsen's had to pack up and head out to the ferry. NOOOO! It was so nice having them there!!! I was super sad to see them go. We took some last minute pictures
Haha! Poor Norah!!!!

Norah was just not happy! She was sad to go too! Q wanted to get in one more quick cuddle
Wearing her new apron from her Nannie and cooking in her kitchen. Ben was asking her to make him something and she told him that "my kitchen is empty, I have no food. Sorry Ben" And then Shayna asked her for something and she says "Oh sure Shayna!" and goes over to make her something! We were laughing quite good about that!
I love these two girls so much! I can't wait to watch their friendship grow also!
Then it was time to say good-bye and for the first time, I am the one who started crying! Usually Shayna cries and I can hold it together until I get in the car, or they close the door. Not this time! They came to visit because they wanted to see us... but really, they came because Shayna was worried about me. She said it was hard for her to not be here when we lost the baby, and she just needed to see me and be around us and make sure I knew that she was there. Having a friend like that is the greatest gift. So saying goodbye is just so hard! I wish we could do everyday life together. But it is also quite amazing that we can always just pick right up where we left off and nothing changes (except that everything changes - we have husbands and pets and babies now!). Its a lifelong kind of friendship that I cherish with my whole heart. Love you Jepsen's.
